Thanks to mikeH at Hit the Post for this link.
A little article on Hot Wheels in the Calgary Herald. It focuses mainly on the Colour Shifters line. Hot Wheels = flames...Calgary = Flames.
To answer mikeH, I worked on three of the Colour Shifters. I forgot their names, but it is the dinosaur, wasp, and dog. I just modeled them, they were designed by others. Also, I worked on about 75% of the 2010 Basic Car Line, including the one pictured in the article. There are two cars that I 'designed' (as well as modeled) in the 2010 line, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and, of course, the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12.
Cool dude. The next time I go to buy Hot Wheels for my nephews I'll make sure they're yours. I'd like to be able to give them the insight that they're not just toys, its actually a career path and people are out there making them.
ReplyDeleteOf course, after that they will probably stomp on them, throw them in the lake, or leave them out in the grass to rust. Then I'll have to go buy more.
